The Womanizer Premium 2 is often compared to other air pulse toys because it offers fantastic air pulse stimulation to the clitoris with a broad range of intensities, two interchangeable mouthpieces, smart silence and autopilot modes, and a 5-year warranty. While it doesn’t have preset patterns, autopilot can function in a similar way for some people. Throughout this review, I’ll compare it to the We-Vibe Melt 2, another air pulse toy with a low-profile design that is comparable in power.

Unboxing & Inspection
The Premium 2 air pulse stimulator comes in Womanizer’s high-end packaging with nice presentation. It includes the Premium 2, user manual, USB charging cable, storage bag, and two interchangeable mouthpieces (slightly different sizes).

The Premium 2 has a graceful, comfortable handle with a 4-button interface. You’ve got the power button, the Autopilot button (squiggly line), and the +/- buttons to increase or decrease the intensity. The power button is spaced apart from the +/- buttons, so you’re less likely to accidentally turn the toy off while playing. It’s fully silicone and waterproof, which makes it easy to clean thoroughly and of course easy to use in the bath or shower. The silicone mouthpieces come off easily too for cleaning – a huge plus.

The two mouthpieces are only slightly different in size and personally feel about the same to me since their sizes only vary by about a millimeter. One seems slightly wider and short, and one is slightly longer and narrower, but again – we’re talking a difference of maybe a millimeter in each direction, so I believe they’ll feel the same for most people. For reference, the Melt 2‘s mouthpiece falls somewhere in between the mouth sizes of the Premium 2.
The Womanizer Premium 2 is very quiet on its lowest setting, not even audible above the 27-30dB ambient noise of my house. It goes up to about 40-44dB at its highest setting. Its volume doesn’t change much whether it’s touching skin or not.
Included Documentation
The Premium 2’s user manual goes over how to charge, clean, and operate the toy. Here’s an online version of the manual.
My Experience Using the Womanizer Premium 2
I like to play around with a toy without reading any instructions first to gauge how intuitive it is. With the Premium 2, the “Smart Silence” feature is on by default when you power on the toy, which helps in situations where privacy is important. However, it isn’t totally obvious how to deactivate Smart Silence without reading the manual (to turn off Smart Silence, hold down the +/- buttons together for 2 seconds).

The Premium 2 isn’t super bulky (I definitely prefer it to something like the Satisfyer Pro), but it isn’t as low profile as the We-Vibe Melt 2. While it’s still totally possible to use Premium 2 during sex, part of it does kind of hang over the mouthpiece, so you need a little more space if you’re trying to use it between bodies. I love its ergonomic handle, and the position of the power button reduces the chance of accidentally turning it off during use.
Premium 2 has a good range of intensities, starting at a gentle, low pulse and increasing to strong, rumbly pulses. It’s comparable in feel and power to the Melt 2, although it has more to its shape, so I find that the sides of the toy kind of rest on my vulva area and broaden stimulation. I enjoy this effect, which is made more intentional in the Womanizer Enhance. The Enhance has a thicker mouthpiece for more skin contact and it vibrates too, which I love! I digress…
I spend the most time with intensities 3 through 8. Intensities 1 and 2 are barely distinguishable from each other, and levels 1-5 would probably work well for more sensitive folks. The toy really ramps up its rumble factor at levels 5/6 and 9/10. The Premium 2 doesn’t have a brute force feel until the last few intensity levels, like the higher settings on the Viben Zen Rose. Those stronger sensations feel right for some people, but rarely for me. The Premium 2 feels a bit more intimate than the popular rose toys with its sloping sides and slightly flexible mouthpiece. I’ll admit it’s not as cute, though.
The Premium 2 is safe to use in the shower (one of my favorite spots for some solo play), but there are a few things to note. At modes ~7 or 8 and beyond, the pulsing sound is notably louder when water gets into the mouthpiece and lifts off of your skin. It seems to amplify the sound. Furthermore, if the Smart Silence feature is on, water droplets on the mouthpiece will trigger it, so Smart Silence isn’t really effective if the toy gets splashed with water. If you want to discreetly play with the Premium 2 in the shower, make sure you downshift to a lower mode before lifting the mouthpiece from your skin.
I haven’t enjoyed the Autopilot feature as much as I’d hoped. It’s got 3 settings: low, medium, and high. The selected Autopilot setting is indicated by how many of the lights are on (under the power button). Regardless of the Autopilot setting, it seems to change modes gradually, so it’s not a substitute for a quicker, rhythmic patterns. I do enjoy mindlessly exploring patterns on other toys, but Premium 2’s Autopilot was so slow and gradual that I had to keep checking to see if it was even on. It seems more like a semi-random crescendo and decrescendo, if that’s your thing. I’ll quickly switch intensities to simulate a “pattern” sometimes, but that feels too labor-intensive to sustain for long.
Final Thoughts
If you want a straightforward air pulse toy and don’t usually spend time with patterns, I’d strongly consider the Premium 2 for its decent range of intensities, 5-year warranty, and remarkable 4-hour run time. If patterns and customization appeal more to you, check out the Melt 2. And if the mouthpieces on both of those seem too focused and small for you, explore the Womanizer Enhance, which has a thicker mouthpiece and vibrates, too!
